FB blocking

I am a Canadian travelling through Southeast Asia with a friend, and we constantly use Facebook to keep in touch with family and friends back home. We were in Hanoi a some days ago and my friend accessed her FB that morning, and later that day I tried but to no avail. This story may not be vetted by CNN yet, but we are seeing with our own eyes that FB has, in fact, been banned from Vietnam.
