Hackers have started targeting prominent digital certificate companies which normally let users know that they are visiting a real webpage. Targets have included companies such as New Jersey-based Comodo, Japanese-owned GlobalSign, and Dutch company DigiNotar, which has since filed for bankruptcy in the wake of the resulting fallout.
