U.S. State Department to include Internet freedom in annual Human Rights Reports

Government efforts to restrict Internet freedom and punish Internet users will be noted in the U.S. State Department's forthcoming 2006 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. The move to include Internet freedom in the Reports was announced in conjunction with the next phase for the Department's Global Internet Freedom Task Force (GIFT), established in February.
