The fundamentalist Web site Baztab.com which is critical of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been closed down, reports Robert Tait of The Guardian.

The banning of the conservative Web site was justified by the first open use of regulations adopted on 27 November, reports Reporters Without Borders.

Iran has blocked top Web sites in December 2006 including Amazon.com and YouTube.
