Internet users in China are planning a Web protest on the day that the Chinese government is making the controversial "Green Dam" software filter mandatory on personal computers, according to Reuters.

Web users in China are urging others in the country to remain offline on July 1 to demonstrate against what they fear will be increased online censorship by the government.
